The Marathon Tour

Take a journey through the oldest route in history

About this tour

More than 500 marathons are held throughout the world each year to commemorate the legend Phidippides who ran 240km to announce the unexpected victory of only 9000 Athenians against 500,000 Persians. There has been some debate about the accuracy of this legend although here you will see the tombs of the 192 Athenians who sacrificed their lives. We will let you be the judge!

Upon arrival to Marathon after approximately 40 km from your hotel your tour will start with a traditional Greek coffee at the picturesque lake of Marathon where you will enjoy serenity and beauty. A perfect place for pictures!
